HIISI.BEER/FEST FAQs
“What payment methods do you accept at the event?”
The event area is a cash free zone, so card payment only.
“I cannot find my ticket after paying online, where is it?”
If the payment went through, the ticket should come in a separate email automatically. If not though, as in some rare cases, check your junk mail and wait a few minutes. If the ticket is not there, send us an email and we’ll ping the ticket email again. Don’t worry though, we’ll also have an old school list of tickets on paper. So we’ll find your ticket even if the digital version doesn’t appear.
“I already have a ticket for the gig, do I need a separate ticket for the beer festival?”
You do not need a separate ticket, as the gig ticket includes entrance to the beer festival (on the same day only). However, for tasting the beers you will need a festival glass, which you may purchase from the ticket checkpoint and entry spot at HIISI Taproom & Bottleshop (6€ per glass).
“Why doesn’t the gig ticket include a festival glass? / Why doesn’t the beer festival ticket include the gig?”
Not everyone attending the gig of the evening is attending the beer festival. If the glass was included in each gig ticket, some of the people attending these gigs would be paying for a glass they are not going to need. Same goes for the other question, as not everyone attending the beer festival are attending the gig of the evening. If the gig was included in each beer festival ticket, some attendees would be paying for a gig they do not attend.
“Will there be special beer festival merch?”
Yes for sure! The official festival merch will be available at the bar in HIISI Taproom & Bottleshop.
First of all, there will be a brand new, super cool beer festival glass. This has been designed for this years festival and will be a limited edition collectible. Second, there will be an official HIISI.BEER/FEST t-shirt. Limited and special, collectible as well. Third, there will be a limited amount of the brand new “Battle Of The Breweries: Season 2” card/board game, which includes actual breweries from around the world. Each box contains HIISI as well. We’ll link the products here once they’re online.
“When do you release the beer lists and where?”
Beer lists will be released once we get finalised lists from the attending breweries. At that point, we will add a link to the list at the festival page. Beer lists for both weeks have now been released and can be found here.
“Is there a map available of the festival area?”
Sure thing. When you arrive we’ll give you a flyer that contains a map of the festival area, along with some other useful info. You can also find the map in digital form here.
“What are the serving sizes?”
Beers will be poured in sizes of 0,2L and 0,4L. Price per liter will be the same in both sizes of the same beer.
“I cannot use my ticket. Can I return it?”
No, the tickets cannot be returned. However, you may resell it or give it to someone else to use.
“My festival glass got broken/lost/forgotten at home. Can I get a new one?”
The beer festival ticket only includes one festival glass per ticket. Therefore, if your glass gets broken/lost/forgotten you may purchase a new one from the ticket checkpoint and entry spot at HIISI Taproom & Bottleshop (6€ per glass). So take good care of your glass and hold onto it for the following days too if you bought a multi-day ticket!
“Is there a deposit in the glass? Can I return it?”
The glass is sold only. You may leave it at the venue or to HIISI Taproom & Bottleshop if you wish, but no money will be refunded.
“Can I use the same festival glass at HIISI.BEER/FEST in the future?“
Yes. The official festival glass can be used in future HIISI.BEER/FEST -events.
“Can I bring my own glass or use other types of glasses in the event?”
No. Only the official festival glass and possible other glasses provided by the venue may be used. However, the official festival glass from this year may be used in future HIISI.BEER/FEST -events.
“Is there an age limit at the event?”
Yes, the event is K-18. Bring ID.
“Can we bring our children?”
Unfortunately the venue is not optimal for children, as the area can get crowded and the gigs may go wild. In addition, the venue is not well suited for strollers (stairs) and glass pieces may end up on the floor at times if glasses break. Therefore we recommend you leave the kids home. Exceptions might be made regarding the outside terrace and/or HIISI Taproom & Bottleshop.
“Can we bring our dog?”
Unfortunately the venue is not optimal for dogs either, as the area can get crowded and the gigs may go wild. In addition, glass pieces may end up on the floor at times if glasses break. Therefore we recommend you leave the dog home. Exceptions might be made regarding the outside terrace and/or HIISI Taproom & Bottleshop.
“What can I not bring to the area?”
It’s prohibited to bring alcohol in any form, nor any opened bottles or containers of liquid. Sealed bottles may be allowed. It is also prohibited to bring any types of weapons or sharp objects that might be used as weapons.
“Is parking available?“
Lutakko is full of parking spots! There’s actually one right below the festival area as well. Entrance to the underground parking area can be found here. There’s also plenty of places to park next to the roads and in the outside parking lots. However, remember the parking disc.
“When is the light signal (beer pouring ends)?”
In the beer festival area, pouring ends at 20.00. Beers will be available after that on the terrace outside (if you have a ticket for the gig) and also at the official after party in HIISI Taproom & Bottleshop (open for all).
“Can I smoke in the area?”
The festival venue is a non smoking area. Smoking is only allowed in specifically marked areas, which may be outside the actual beer festival area.
“What if it rains?”
No worries! The beer festival serving area is located inside, with plenty of room there too in addition to the terrace outside. For the gigs, well, the best gigs don’t care about the weather. So why should you?
“How should I behave?”
Behave nicely and like a human being. We will not accept any harassment, discrimination or intimidation of any kind. Be kind to your fellow festival visitors, to the volunteers, brewers and people working at the venue. Everyone is welcome at HIISI.BEER/FEST and anyone who claims otherwise in comments, actions or slurs will be asked to leave the festival area.
Also, please drink responsibly. Anyone too drunk to stay awake, walk or talk straight may be removed from the area.
Welcome to enjoy the evening!
